The year 2015 high temperatures recorded from winter to summer, which threatened over ripening, but the year was “saved by the rain” in February that brought good freshness and ideal ripeness. In general, 2015 is a very elegant, discrete and subtle year with a more distinct Bordeaux style than its predecessors.
The harvest took 15 days: the last week of March for Malbec first week of April for the Cabernet Sauvignon. From a winemaking point of view, 2015 marks a change in the barrels used: the team significantly increased the proportion of 400 and 500 litres tonneaux in order to preserve more of the fruit’s crispness.
BLEND
Malbec (69%), Cabernet Sauvignon (31%).
COLOUR
Lively ruby red with sharp highlights.
AROMAS
The nose is elegant and discrete, revealing captivating aromas of liquorice, menthol and camphor that play along with the primary notes of wild fruits and blueberries. These aromas leave space for an intense tertiary bouquet of anise, leather, clove and balsamic.
PALATE
The mouth is sharp, fresh and subtle. It exhibits the precise balance and finesse of the year. Roundness comes from our octogenarian Malbec vines and structure from the Cabernet Sauvignon.
